Explorers Academy of Science & Technology (EAST)
is a tuition free public community school.
Explorers Academy – By creating a powerful learning community centered on core values and a shared commitment to academic excellence, EAST will produce students who excel in higher education and tomorrow’s workforce. EAST students will be responsible, engaged citizens who are prepared to be leaders of the future.

STEM SCHOOL
STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four
specific disciplines; science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Science
Inquiry and experimentation to build and organize knowledge to make predictions about the universe. Scientists ask questions and answer them with evidence.
Technology
Tools and processes to explore and to solve problems, all humans make and use various types of tools.
Engineering
The process of applying knowledge to solve problems. Engineers use scientific knowledge and mathematical skills.
Mathematics
The study of number, shape, and measurement. Mathematicians use data and rules of deductive argument to make and justify meaning.
Vision Statement
EAST is dedicated to ensuring 100% of our students meet state standards in math, science, and language arts. EAST will create an innovative school where students acquire a rigorous academic foundation that they can apply to the community and world around them in meaningful ways.
EAST students will leave our school with character and a sense of civic responsibility of which a significant percentage will assume leadership positions in an increasingly scientific and technology-based society. EAST will follow the guiding principles of rigor, integration, and personalization. EAST will be an innovative and model school that helps to redefine the American school experience.
In order to meet these overall goals, EAST will employ the following specific goals: Establish a Culture of High Expectations; provide Effective Remediation and Support; implement a Balanced Curriculum Approach; and Integrate Technology to enhance classroom instruction.
